Do I need to provide a source audio file?

Yes — speech-to-speech needs source audio to inherit timing and intonation from. If you just have a script, use text-to-speech instead. The strength of speech-to-speech is preserving an original performance's energy.

How close to the target voice does it get?

Very close for voices in AdLit's library. For cloned voices (built from a 30-second sample of someone's actual voice), similarity is high enough to fool casual listeners. For high-stakes brand work, do an A/B with stakeholders before shipping at scale.

Can I control accent strength?

Yes. When converting to a regional voice (e.g., Brazilian Portuguese), you can dial the accent strength up or down so the output sounds either fully localized or more neutral. Useful for global brands that want regional flavor without alienating non-locals.

Does the original speaker need to grant rights?

If the source audio is yours or you have the speaker's consent, yes. AdLit's Terms require you to have the rights to upload any source material that contains a real person's voice. Don't upload someone else's voice to clone without their explicit permission.
